“As soon as the Amelia Grand Chair launched, we knew it was going to be a favorite,” says Gifty Walker, director of merchandising and sourcing at Joybird (joybird.com), a purveyor of customizable, modern upholstered furniture that opened on Cherry Creek North’s Clayton Lane in 2023. “Its oversize silhouette provides the perfect place to curl up with a book, and it can seat two people comfortably for movie night.”
Joybird is leaning into a softer look and oversize statement shapes this season. “Consumers have begun to shift to more relaxed living at home. Daybeds are a top category for us, but we knew the large footprint could be a deterrent. The scale of this chair works because it’s not as expansive.” With a simplified soft arm profile, the Amelia Grand is the perfect contemporary update to a classic shape.
“Brown is currently the top trending color for upholstered furniture, and we’re loving the different applications of this color, from luxe velvets to relaxed linens,” Walker says. “These colors feel earthy, organic and reminiscent of colors found in nature.” The Harper amber gold fabric (shown below) provides an energetic pop of color while still feeling grounded.
Joybird has an interactive swatch wall with 80 different fabrics, in-house designers and room vignettes that serve as living Pinterest boards to help clients envision the design potential of their home spaces. The shop also recently introduced an innovative 3D Cloud Room Scanner technology, which leverages advanced algorithms to precisely capture room dimensions. Scan your room, upload the dimensions and start designing within minutes.
