A bespoke men’s suit is a luxury you might associate more with Wall Street magnates and Hollywood celebrities than Denver’s laid-back outdoorsy folk. But in 2020, shortly after Balani Custom Clothiers (balanicustom.com) opened a small outpost in Cherry Creek North, the 150-square-foot showroom became the company’s highest-grossing store in the country. There is indeed a demand for high-end, custom-made clothing in Denver. Balani styles CEOs and TV personalities as well as many of Denver’s pro athletes, including the Avalanche, the Broncos and the Nuggets.

In May 2024, Balani expanded its footprint in Cherry Creek North with a 4,000-square-foot store. Master clothier Yaneev Benami heads up a team of stylists in Denver. Clients can post up at the shop’s fabric bar to enjoy a drink and peruse fabric swatches from world-renowned mills. Stylists take more than 40 measurements, and patterns are handdrawn and handcut to ensure garments fit seamlessly to a client’s unique physique.
“Our fall collection captures autumn’s essence with lush emerald tones and refined moss hues,” says Sonny Balani, the company’s CEO and son of Peter Balani, who founded the company in 1961. “Look for the Regal Sage, crafted from 100% wool in a soft seafoam green with a subtle windowpane pattern. The line, along with the shop’s living greenery wall, are the perfect reflection of Colorado’s affinity for nature.
