It seems like every relevant person in the world was at Lous Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2022 runway show in Paris.
Our invite must have gotten lost in the mail, no biggie.
“A desire for transmission. The Spring-Summer 2022 collection is an invitation to le grand bal of Time. Tonight, time is of no consequence. Yet time is everything. It dissolves functions and codes. It unites wardrobes. Day becomes night. The humble uniform becomes sumptuous,” Louis Vuitton.
“From yesterday to today. The present moment. Clothing as the conduit. The experiencing of dressing, a voice that carries on. Leading the countdown and staying one step ahead. The transformative creative fusion of generations. A vibrant flow of style. The night will be all the more beautiful.”
Notable guests included Friend of the House, Emma Chamberlain, who is practically a walking ad for Louis at this point.
Chiara Ferragni, Gemma Chan, Venus Williams, Batsheva Haart, amongst others, were also in attendance wearing Vuitton from head to toe.
Just like the brand’s pre-pandemic collection in March 2020, the SS 22 line looks towards the future, while simultaneously paying homage to the past.
If we could describe the show in one word, it would be decadent. Fabulous and opulent too, but decadent is the most appropriate word.
The runway was exploding with gold colors, intricate beading, lots of lace and silk, dark sunglasses, and let’s not forget the dozens of crystal chandeliers that radiated like the sun.
The show was a beautiful success, despite the climate-change protestor who rocked an “Overconsumption = Extinction” sign down the runway.
Not to fret, political fashion is in style, anyways.
Nobody freak out, we'll fly to Paris next season. *Anxiously Manifests*
