CAPTIVATING CROWDS SINCE IT FIRST OPENED IN PARIS, the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit offers a dreamlike escape into the world of one of the most prolific figures in the history of Western art. More than 3 million visitors worldwide have been awe-struck by the beauty of this experience dreamed up by Italian installation artist Massimiliano Siccardi. This fall, the show made its way to the Mile High City, staged in the former Regency Hotel, just west of the RiNo art district. Some 90 million pixels and 500,000 cubic feet of projections animate the artist’s works. Transport yourself into this kaleidoscopic wonder, surrounded by a swirling sensation featuring the brilliant mind of Van Gogh. Bathe in the rich hues of “Les Tournesols” (“Sunflowers,” 1888), dance in the luminous skies in the “Nuit Etoilée” (“Starry Night,” 1889), and soak in the art, music and theater that help to carry out this masterpiece.
