Carrot, a first-of-its-kind browser extension that allows users to save, organize and share all of their open shopping carts, officially launched on Monday, November 15th.
The extension automatically saves all open carts in one place, captures all open carts from the 45 days prior as soon as it is installed, notifies users within the plug-in once an item in cart has been marked down, and gives them the ability to personalize and easily share collections.
Carrot was Co-Founded by Bobby Ghoshal, serial founder and former Head of Design and Growth of WeWork, and Ramin Bozorgzadeh, Founding Engineer at WeWork and former engineer at Etsy.
The duo began developing the concept in early 2021 in response to a personal frustration with the lack of innovation when it came to the modern-day shopping cart.

“My family and I were moving to a new city and had a ton of furnishing to do, and I remember feeling massively overwhelmed by all the messages I was getting with products to buy. I couldn’t keep track of everything I was looking at, and I figured there had to be a product out there that saves all of your carts for you, but there wasn’t,” says Ghoshal.
“I immediately thought, what if all your carts were collected automatically, without any extra work required on your part?”
“Bobby called me with the idea and, after doing some digging, I found it hard to believe it didn’t already exist. This felt like a potential sea change,” adds Bozorgzadeh.
From a consumer's point of view, the necessity arose out of only being able to see potential purchases directly on a retailer’s site, carts often clearing out before a purchase decision has been finalized, and a lack of an efficient way to organize and share existing carts with friends or family.
Carrot was created for anyone who: has trouble keeping track of their carts, sends themselves links to products, shares screenshots of product pages with their friends, shops with multiple tabs open at a time, and/or sends product links to friends and family looking for feedback.
"I knew from the minute I saw Carrot I wanted to get involved once I saw all my open carts and how easy it was to organize them with a click of a button." says investor, Paris Hilton.
"I do so much online shopping but I always leave open carts and forget to go back to them as I’m always busy and running around. I love how simple Carrot makes it to get back to those carts, everyone needs it!"
“Carrot needed to exist,” says Carter Reum, Founder of M13 Ventures. “It’s one of those products that you can’t believe doesn’t already exist and completely elevates the shopping experience without having to even think about it. It's about time someone rethought the mechanics of product curation online, in my opinion, Carrot is the company to do it."
The company’s recently closed seed round of $5.5 million included investments from M13 Ventures, Paris Hilton, Scott Belsky, Kindred Ventures, Abstract, Designer Fund, Combine, Riverpark, and Next View.
Carrot is now available to download, free of charge, on desktops via Google Chrome on addtocarrot.com.
