FLAPPER-ERA SOCIALITE Milly Parker was the inspiration for Room for Milly, an elegant cocktail bar that opened in February 2020 on Platte Street in Denver. Despite the inauspicious timing, this new lounge from the owners of Queens Eleven has become a neighborhood favorite. Layered in luxury finishes, textures and rich color, the space is transformative. A nod to Parker’s world travels, handpainted wallpaper by de Gournay, featuring a large scene of life in India, provides a dramatic backdrop for the bar’s lit bottle rail.
Sink into avocado velvet banquettes beneath a curated collection of art from mostly female artists for leisurely conversation, crafted cocktails and a rotating menu of small plates from chef Sean Yi. Indulge with bites like Putting on the Ritz, an irreverent pairing of Sturia sturgeon caviar and Ritz crackers. Enjoy it with an inventive cocktail like My Dearest Pike, a travel-inspired twist on the classic old-fashioned, with coconut-washed rhum agricole, spiced pandan cordial and tiki bitters. 1615 Platte St., Ste. 145, Denver, 720.630.7020, roomformilly.com
