Ski racers Margaret “Miggs” and Dick Durrance were married in 1940. Both talented photographers, with Dick focusing on film, the duo spent the rest of their lives documenting the Aspen life in style. Miggs’ photos appeared in national magazines such as LIFE, Look, Sports Illustrated and National Geographic.

In 2018, the Durrance family donated more than 800 images by Miggs and Dick to the Aspen Historical Society, 90-plus of which are on display through spring. “The family’s long history in the area and their immense contributions to the development of Aspen and Snowmass are reflected in images curated for the display,” wrote the AHS in its announcement of the show. 620 W.
