What’s your favorite thing about being a broker in Denver?
Denver is such a dynamic city, and the growth surprises me at every turn. We’ve got tons of new energy and innovation mixed in with restaurants, cafes, gyms and retail. Local talent is exploding, and coupled with the influx of talent moving in, it’s extraordinary. Being a broker is exciting—it’s like fitting the pieces of the puzzle together into a tapestry out of an abundance of residential opportunity. New construction, renovation and treasured housing stock is all getting a new perspective with Denver’s growth.

What’s your most incredible listing?
I would say 121 S. Dexter in Hilltop, which is on the market for $10 million. It’s amazing what Nest Architectural Design envisioned with exposed concrete. The three-story home has 30-foot-high glass walls, intersected by a series of open corridors and bridges. There’s an intimacy in the way the rooms are orchestrated around the home’s central core.

What are the biggest trends you’re seeing in interior design?
What I am seeing is good, classic architecture and design—it is timeless when executed well and will be relevant today and into the future. Marble, natural stone, wood and steel are elements of nature, and we are embracing them here in Denver. Indoor-outdoor connectivity is huge; big houses for the sake of having a big house, not so much. Quality over quantity any day.

What’s the state of Denver’s real estate market at the moment?
Denver’s real estate market has not slept in the past three years and is still going strong. This is a plus, of course, but it does come with challenges. The sad and unmistakable part of our booming market, like in many cities, is the lack of affordable housing. Many of our clients are simply priced out. What is surprising is luxury has really taken off ($2 million-plus is considered luxury for Denver). The inventory is low, and good houses at that luxury price point get snapped up, often in bidding wars. milehimodern.com

This waterfront home at 5405 Westridge Drive in Boulder features an abundance of natural light and floor-to-ceiling windows framing endless views. HOME PHOTO BY JULIE KRUGER
What’s your favorite thing about being a broker in Boulder?
I love how different most Boulder homes are. We don’t have a lot of conforming neighborhoods, and that is a part of Boulder’s charm. You see something new every day, even after 35 years. There is so much history here. We are a true community, and it is special to be able to be a part of that.

What’s your most incredible listing?
I have two that are quite spectacular. The home at 5405 Westridge backs to a private community reservoir and has water and mountain views along with an open layout and luxurious modern finishes. The details on 15490 Mountain View Circle are on a level rarely rivaled. It has mountain and city views, a year-round heated pool and hot tub, outdoor kitchen, virtual golf and gaming space, seven-car garage with RV and boat parking—the list goes on.

What are the biggest trends you’re seeing in interior design?
We’re still seeing a preference for crisp white interiors, but with the addition of warm earthy tones and merging natural elements with the bright clean environment. For instance, white walls with wood beam work on the ceiling and warmer-tone hardwoods or natural wood-tone cabinets with white quartz countertops. We’re also seeing a focus on athome office spaces and outdoor entertaining spaces.

What are the three hottest neighborhoods in Boulder?
Devil’s Thumb, Wonderland Lake, Newlands
What’s the state of the Boulder real estate market at the moment?
The Boulder real estate market has been very robust with tech companies bringing a lot of relocation here, along with local buyers moving for lifestyle changes with the pandemic and investors shifting around or adding to their portfolios. We are seeing inventory beginning to rise, but it is still historically very low, maintaining strong prices and quick sales. thebernardigroup.com

What’s your favorite thing about being a broker in the Vail Valley?
I get the opportunity to meet and work with so many amazing buyers and sellers who cherish Vail as a second home or, increasingly, a primary home. The various backgrounds they bring makes my job very interesting.

What’s your most incredible listing?
I have a soon-to-be-listed property in Mountain Star, an exclusive gated community above Avon, near Beaver Creek. It is a beautiful mountain-modern home offering great privacy and expansive views. In March, we closed on the most expensive home in Vail this year. The property—615 Forest Place, which sold for $30,875,000—is an 11,865-square-foot skiin, ski-out European-inspired chalet constructed with Tuscan Gold natural stone and giant honed timbers, tucked in a private enclave at the base of Lionshead.

What are the hottest areas in the Vail Valley?
Vail is always hot, and Beaver Creek has seen significant sales activity. Many people are buying in the Lake Creek neighborhood, which is located in a valley just west of Edwards. It has large ranches and homesites, so it appeals to people who are looking for space and privacy.

What are the biggest trends you’re seeing in interior design?
We’ve seen a move back to dedicated office spaces, movie theaters and more outdoor spaces given families’ desires to spend more time here in the summer and fall months. Pools are also being requested more frequently.
What’s the state of Vail’s real estate market at the moment?
After several years of a seller’s market and extremely low inventory, I am beginning to see more clients consider selling, which could be the beginning of a movement to a more balanced market. While we always have an inventory shortage, the last two years have presented an extreme squeeze on homes available. With more inventory to choose from, I believe buyers will continue to seek out a Rocky Mountain retreat as the ideal second home. Look for prices to stabilize this summer but don’t expect any real price drops. thestocktongroupvail.com
