EMBRACING A THOUGHT-PROVOKING and progressive approach, designer Feng Chen Wang deconstructed Ugg’s most iconic design, the Classic, with her signature multidimensional aesthetic. This new take on the Ugg silhouette creates a boot that’s suitable for both summer and winter. It features two modular elements—a sandal with an adjustable buckle and a cozy sheepskin boot liner. The elements can be worn together or separately for three-in-one functionality. Fully constructed, the boot’s look is one of “unapologetic individuality.”
“The clash of cultures, background and origins of both brands is exactly what makes this partnership interesting and meaningful,” said the designer in a statement.
This new collaboration seems fitting in a state where the snow-capped peaks of the Sangre de Cristos frame the scorching hot surface of the Great Sand Dunes, where we ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon. With campaign imagery featuring a combination of winter ice and summer sand, the boot represents “a dramatic contradiction.”
Feng Chen Wang has collaborated with other traditional brands, like Levi’s and Converse, while Ugg recently partnered with Molly Goddard to create a line of playful yet elegant platform mules. Nordstrom, 2810 E. First Ave., Denver, 720.746.2424, nordstrom.com
