VICEROY SNOWMASS (viceroyhotelsandresorts.com/snowmass) has always been a pet-friendly place, but the luxury mountain property now has its very own house dog: Vi, a year-old Bernese mountain dog. Since being introduced last spring (on National Pet Day, naturally), Vi has become a fixture in the hotel’s lobby. In summer, guests can join Vi for a daily hike; in winter, Vi likes to curl up for naps in front of the hotel’s fireplace. She’s fond of a good scratch behind the ears.

Vi is also the de facto ambassador for Viceroy’s VIP (Very Important Pups) program. Upon arrival, your fur baby will be greeted with a bag containing a leash, doggie bags and a housemade organic dog treat. Other amenities include chew toys, bandana neckties and take-home keepsake kits to imprint paws in plaster. Dog beds and food and water bowls are available on request. If Fido’s feeling peckish, ring up room service to order more dog treats.
