Warren Miller was born on Oct. 15, 1924. 100 years to the day, the 75th Warren Miller film (warrenmiller.com) was screened at the Boulder Theater. The inaugural film debuted in 1949, igniting a new genre of filmmaking. Since then, it’s evolved into a celebratory tradition that signals the ski season’s kickoff. This year’s movie is titled 75, marking the film’s 75th anniversary. The lineup features 10 all-new segments from around the globe, from Colorado to Austria, as well as a poignant segment pairing up pioneering snowboarder Zeb Powell with 15-year-old LJ Henriquez in Japan. The movie will undoubtedly inspire skiers and riders to hit the slopes—because, in the immortal words of Warren Miller, “If you don’t do it this year, you’ll be one year older when you do.”
